I have similar containers (and A LOT of them). All I can come up with at this point is storing small manipulatives so that each team of desks can grab a container. My containers are about 5" high and 5 inches in diameter. Anxious to hear other ideas! I just cannot throw them out. I know something can be done with them!
I'm a container junkie. I love to reuse containers from the "everyday" products in our lives. My first thought (since I have not seen these yet)is do they have various colors? If so put one color on each group of desks as "mini" trash cans for scraps so that students are not getting up and down. My other thought was like PP...use for manipulatives. Finally, what about a "first-aid" kit to store band-aids, gloves, wipes, gauze etc..?"
Pencils, pens, crayons, markers, etc could be put inside; spray paint each a different color for color sorting activities; store scissors; make a matching game using small lids and store inside; the possibilities really are endless! (I, too, am a container-aholic!!)
Use them for PE! They can be used as field/game markers, for throwing small balls into, make a zig zag pattern and make an obstacle course with them, stack them to make pyramids. The ideas are endless.

How big are they? They could be used as dice shakers!
